Daisy Was Swayed On 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

by Leah Marilla Thomas

Despite the promos for next week, I don't know if I would call Daisy a "fallen agent" per se. She may not have turned to the Dark Side of her own volition, but Tuesday's twists and turns have left some major wreckage in their wake. After being "infected" by Hive, Daisy killed Gideon Malick on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and destroyed the base on her way to join the Inhuman devil.

Hive, who Daisy dubbed "Zombie Ward" in the episode, is apparently a Mary Poppins cart bag full of superpowers. Will his talents ever stop emerging? During a mission, he used his "sway" to mind-control Daisy. She claims that she can see clearly now, but she's basically just doing Hive's bidding. This included killing Malick with her Inhuman abilities, stealing the orb that she and Lincoln recovered in a previous episode, and tearing up the S.H.I.E.L.D. air hanger in an epic exit. She also took a bunch of terrigen crystals, which we know can be deadly to non-Inhumans when they aren't diluted into fish pills.

Daisy/Hive tried to get Lincoln to join her — interesting, because that means that either Hive cares about "Sparky" or Daisy still has some control over her actions. (Except for the part where she tried to frame him, but I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.) But he's fully on Team S.H.I.E.L.D. at this point. It's basically up to Simmons now to develop a cure for this infection. Hopefully everyone survived the farewell earthquake. At least, with the Secret Warriors quarantined, they'll get to stay on the team for a little while longer. Daisy may have left the team, but her legacy is more than capable of bringing her back.
