Urban Decay's 'Alice' Palette Is Worth The Price

by Amy Sciarretto

Palette perfection is on the horizon. Urban Decay is reprising its partnership with the Alice in Wonderland film franchise with an expanded collection. The crown jewel, though, is the Alice Through the Looking Glass eyeshadow palette, which comes out in advance of the release of the new film that hits the multiplex on May 27. The brand partnered with the 2010 film for the Book of Shadows palette, which was majorly successful. It makes sense to revisit the pairing, especially since mega palettes are an Urban Decay staple. How much is the Urban Decay x Alice Through the Looking Glass eyeshadow palette, which boasts 20 high-impact shades?

The palette will set you back by $60. But that's 60 very well spent dollars, considering that you get 20 quality shadows, which can be mixed and matched for endless custom looks. The options alone make the palette worth the spend. Plus, the kaleidoscopic, delightfully trippy packaging will look so insanely good while perched on your vanity or wherever you store your makeup.

The shades are linked to and inspired by five characters: Alice, The Mad Hatter, Time, The Red Queen, and The White Queen. Each character is connected to four shades.

The shadow hues are incredibly adventurous, aren't they?

UPDATE: Urban Decay's PR team responded to Bustle's inquiry about the palette shades. All 20 shades are brand new. They are not pre-existing shades with new names, according to the brand's reps.

Observe and drool over the colors, the pop-up butterfly, and the childlike wonder of the packaging design. It's all so whimsical, isn't it?

The collection, which includes lipsticks, was obviously inspired by the film starring Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Mia Wasikowska as the titular character.

Beauty Junkies can prepare to drop 60 loot cakes on the Alice Through the Looking Glass eyeshadow palette on May 1, which is the online on-sale date. It lands in stores on May 5.
