Can you believe it's May already? 2016 is going by in a flash, and I can't believe how much has happened already, especially in the celeb universe. So many famous people have gotten married, had babies, or broken up, including plenty of reality stars. There are so many reality TV couples who broke up this year, and 2016 isn't even halfway through — the calendar still has seven more months to go. But with the way things are going, more reality TV couples will certainly be added to the list before long.
Everyone loves a good ol' celebrity couple, but what makes reality TV couples more intriguing is that, well, for starters, they're on TV. They have more exposure than the average couple. Viewers and fans get to see these folks fall in love (ahem, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette), get married, live a life, and, sadly, sometimes break up. Reality TV immerses fans into the everyday experiences and lives of these TV stars, making you feel even more attached to their highs, lows, and in-betweens. And boy, has reality lost some great couples to divorces, break ups, and "irreconcilable differences" in 2016.
Check out nine reality TV couples who've broken up this year:
1. Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom
The one-time stars of Khloe & Lamar reunited after Odom's accident in 2015, at least as close friends, if not romantic partners. She helped him recover from his injuries, but unfortunately, their alleged second try at a relationship didn't last.
2. Khloe Kardashian & James Harden
Before Kardashian reunited with Lamar, she was seeing Harden, also an NBA basketball player. They broke up in February reportedly because, as Khloe shared on her TV show Kocktails With Khloe , he was unfaithful to her.
3. Steve-O & Kat Von D
The Jackass star and the LA Ink tattoo artist split after dating for three months. We hardly knew ye.
4. Paris Hilton & Thomas Gross
Once upon a time, Hilton was the queen of reality TV on The Simple Life. These days, the socialite recently broke up with the Swiss millionaire, reportedly because of the geographical distance between them, according to TMZ.
5. Marisa Zanuck & Dean Zanuck
In March, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years, according to TMZ. Together, they have a son and daughter.
6. Kailyn Lowry & Javi Marroquin
The Teen Mom 2 stars are filing for divorce amid rumors and accusations that Marroquin was allegedly unfaithful during his deployment, according to Radar Online.
7. Cynthia Bailey & Peter Thomas
The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars are divorcing this year and Bailey announced it on The Wendy Williams Show, according to BET.
8. Katt Williams & Hazel-E
The comedian and the Love & Hip-Hop star are reportedly "on a break," according to TMZ, with Williams allegedly wanting to distance herself from Hazel-E's recent legal troubles.
Big Ang & Neil Murphy
The Mob Wives stars broke up when Angela "Big Ang" Raiola was going through treatment for stage 4 lung and brain cancers, according to People. Yet Murphy stepped up and remained by her side before Ang died in early 2015, even though they were estranged.
Not every reality TV couple makes it last, unfortunately, but hopefully, the rest of 2016 will see plenty of pairs staying together for the long run.
