Katherine Heigl Ditches Her Signature Blonde Locks

The latest Hollywood hair transformation proves that long, mermaid-length hair is out, and ultra short styles are in. Katherine Heigl got a super short haircut, and it makes her look like a totally different person. The 37-year-old follows the example of Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lawrence, and Emma Roberts who have all recently undergone drastic hair makeovers. It looks like the wave of celebrity hairstyle change-ups is still going strong.

The actress casually debuted her new 'do on Instagram, but strangely didn't call attention to it in the caption — it's as though she thought we wouldn't notice the change or something. But that bold chop definitely can't be missed. The photo revealed a textured pixie type of style with lots of volume at the top. It's sort of like a short bob meets a long pixie, a bit strange but still super cool. Heigl's mane looks like it changed colors, too. It appears she added some honey-colored streaks to her previously bright blonde hair, skewing more on the side of brunette now.

The actress has long been known for her flowing platinum blonde locks, and while she has gone short before, this pixie gives her a look we have never quite seen before.
