Ever since winning the first season of American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has been a worldwide sensation and success story. She continues to prove why she belongs in the music industry, and when she isn't belting out hits like "Piece by Piece" and making everyone tear up alongside her, she is a loving mom to her two children, River Rose and new baby Remington Alexander Blackstock. Her relationship with her husband, Brandon Blackstock, since 2013 is also important to her. So, let's discuss her hubby a little bit more: What Brandon Blackstock does for a living.
Just like his wife, Blackstock is no stranger to the music industry. More specifically, he is a music manager. The 39-year-old takes after his dad, Narvel Blackstock, who has been a music manager for years. His dad used to be married to country singing star Reba McEntire and also manages Clarkson.
So, does he manage anyone famous? Why yes he does. Blackstock is Blake Shelton's manager. And based on how much Blackstock tweets and retweets about The Voice coach, I think it's safe to say he very much supports Shelton's career.
Actually, Shelton says he is the one who pushed his manager to propose to Clarkson. In 2012, the country singer told Hollyscoop (via Huffington Post), "I told Brandon, 'Man, you need to grow up and you figure out that you need to marry this girl." He added, "I am going on the record saying, I will do the music at the wedding or whatever you want to do, I’ll be that guy. I will play for four hours if I have to, cause you need to get you[r] head out of your ass and ask that girl to marry you."
Shelton supported their love so much that he was even supposed to officiate their wedding, but that didn't happen. As he told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show in November 2013, the only reason he didn't do it was because they ended up eloping.
As for Blackstock's other clients, per Hollywood Life, he was the former tour manager for Rascal Flatts. While chatting with Ryan Seacrest in October 2012, Clarkson said she first met Blackstock when he was working with the band.
In addition to managing music talent, Blackstock is also a pilot. According to Entertainment Tonight, Clarkson shared a WhoSay post in 2012 talking about her pilot boyfriend. She wrote, "I had a really bad day yesterday and my boyfriend is a pilot and flew in to surprise me and be with me because I was so sad. He wins Best Boyfriend Award ....hands down." She also called Blackstock by the nickname, "Mr. Manly Hunter Pilot Guy," while chatting with People in 2013.
So, not only can he fly a plane, but he also knows the ins and outs of the music biz. It sure seems like Blackstock is an interesting and multi-talented guy.
