Spicy chicken lovers, rejoice! The Wendy's Jalapeno Fresco Spicy Chicken Sandwich is available again for a limited time. That's right: If you remember this sandwich, you know Wendy's released it for a limited time on their menu in 2015 — and now it's back! You might be wondering what's in the Wendy's Jalapeno Fresco Spicy Chicken Sandwich, anyway, right? Unsurprisingly, the short answer to that question is, loads of spicy goodness. However, the sandwich itself is not the only loved returner making its way back to the Wendy's menu: The Ghost Pepper Fries are back as well, serving as the ideal complement to a super spicy sandwich. (You'll probably want something to drink, too!)
So, let's get into the details of this spicy gift from the Wendy's gods: The sandwich includes Wendy’s signature spicy blend and 100 percent, all white meat chicken breast, topped with fresh, diced jalapeños, Colby Pepper Jack cheese, red onions, and specially made ghost pepper sauce, and served on a bakery-inspired, freshly toasted red jalapeño bun.
If you tried the sandwich last year and didn't find it spicy enough (or if you like to live on the edge and take your spice level to the extreme to start), you're more than welcome to request extra jalapenos or extra ghost pepper sauce (or if you really want to make your eyes water, ask for both!). I haven't had it myself, but supposedly this sandwich is so spicy, Wendy's has their own spice-o-meter to prepare you for the heat:
As for the Ghost Pepper Fries, they, too, come to customers smothered in spice. First, the fries are covered in cheese sauce, then topped with fresh, diced jalapenos, cheddar cheese, and ghost pepper sauce. Similarly to the sandwich customization, you can request extra jalapenos or sauce on your fries, too!
As a heads-up, while this sandwich is making a comeback, it's only available for a limited time. It's available in participating Wendy's locations now, but there isn't an end date in sight, so if you're craving some heat, I'd order one sooner, rather than later.
As a tip, you can call your local Wendy's to double check that the sandwich and fries are available, as it's technically only at participating locations. In terms of cost, it looks like it'll add up to the normal fare for a fast food lunch: while it's location dependent, expect to pay about $4.99 for the sandwich and an additional $1.99 for the fries. Which, in my opinion, is a small price to pay if you find yourself craving some intense heat and spice during your lunch break.
