See Farrah Abraham's Badass MTV Red Carpet Move
Farrah Abraham is your unlikely new relationship hero. The 24-year-old may have been served colossal portions of drama during her time on MTV, but when it comes to moving forward in real life, it seems she’s got everything in line. Especially her men. The Teen Mom OG star turned heads on the red carpet at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards on Saturday evening, and if it wasn’t because of her flawless old Hollywood glam look, it was because her on-again, off-again beau Simon Saran was trailing behind her for its entirety. (See the photo above for proof.) Bustle spoke with Abraham, AKA the brains behind this operation, to learn about the very calculated, very brilliant move, in my opinion.
“He’s like, a friend,” she says. “I don’t really want to talk about wieners or sex moves or anything.” L-O-L. Amazing. So if they are just “friends” and obviously steering clear of the sex talk, then what is it the two are doing together these days? “Netflix and chill,” Saran insists. And when he wasn’t Netflix and chilling with his ex on Saturday, he was patiently awaiting while Abraham stopped and chatted in interview after interview. And he’s well-aware that while following her on the carpet, he was “like a little puppy.”
But why?
“He’s in training,” Abraham says. “If you wanna be a husband, you gotta train to be one… ’Til then, um, we’re friends.”
Considering all of the drama the two have been through together, from a public breakup last summer to recent pregnancy rumors and even domestic abuse allegations, it’s no wonder Abraham would want to go at her own pace this time around before taking things to the next level. Especially if that pace is along the red carpet, slow enough for her man to watch, learn and earn, as bae gets all the spotlight.
While I'm going to guess these two are a notch up from the friend zone, because, well…
She’s calling the shots, and I hope everything falls in place for her, as it should.
“I’m turning 25 this year. It’s my prime,” she says. “That’s what I say. This is my prime year. Amen.”
