From lip glosses to lipsticks and liners, King Kylie has proven herself a beauty guru of the pout: Every product she releases selling out faster than you can say "Lip Kit." Now Kylie Jenner is teasing us with something brand new: Metal Matte Lipsticks in time for festival season.
On the evening of April 10, Jenner posted some snaps of three different lipstick hues onto both Instagram and Snapchat, dubbing them her "new Coachella colors." And judging from the packing of these surprise lippies, they're going to be unlike anything we've seen from the 18-year-old thus far.
Considering Jenner is famous for nude hues and deep berries, the Metal Mattes are a bit more of an alternative course of action. In burgundy, gold, and rose, the lipsticks shimmer and shine in a way that screams "funky glamour." Their metal matte sheen is unlike anything I've come across outside of Lime Crime's Perlees, but in hues that are a little more accessible to folks of all styles — rather than an alt-specific crowd.
Everyone knows festival season is all about being your kitchiest self — at least for non-celebrities — and it's pretty thrilling to see that Jenner has taken that idea and rolled with it. The world of alternative, experimental beauty is slowly evolving, but the reality star is helping create more magic in the way she knows best: Lips.
And now all we can do is wait.
Her colors — Reign, King K, and Heir, from left to right — are "dropping soon," as per the Kylie Cosmetics Instagram page. So let's hope "soon" is synonymous with, like, tomorrow.
