Wait, Are Luke and Lorelai Engaged In 'GG'?

It’s all starting to happen for Gilmore Girls fans. After months of patiently — and not so patiently — waiting for more info surrounding the Gilmore Girls revival, we’ve finally been gifted some satiating details. Specifically info regarding Luke Danes and Lorelai Gilmore's relationship. The most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly revealed exclusive — and telling — set photos for the revival. Included in the mix were pics of Rory and her possible new profession, Emily Gilmore looking incredible, and one sweet snapshot of Luke and Lorelai holding hands and being, you know, blissfully in love. Unless this is a photo a flashback and/or some cruel, cruel, seriously sick joke, these two lovebirds look like they're officially back together in the revival. (Win!) But one question remains: Are Luke and Lorelai engaged in the Gilmore Girls revival? According to that same issue of EW , yes. Yes, they are.

Fans have long been invested in Luke and Lorelai's relationship. Ever since the show went off air, I personally know I've woken up in a cold sweat at 2 a.m. wondering, “Do Luke and Lorelai make it?!” and also, “Where is Paul Anka?!” on more than one occasion. With the release of the aforementioned photo, though — and the information I'm about to reveal — I can now rest easy. In the article, when discussing the concern that the cast might have a hard time getting back into the fast rhythm of the GG dialogue, EW wrote:

"I struggled with it at first. I remember looking at our dialogue coach and going, 'I don't know if I can pull it off'," recalls Scott Peterson, who plays Lorelai's fiancé and chief caffeine enabler, Luke Danes.

I'm sorry, one more time: "who plays Lorelai's fiancé and chief caffeine enabler, Luke Danes."

Two things. If this does indeed mean Lorelai and Luke are engaged in the revival, all is right in the world, thank goodness. And two, does this mean those (possible) impending nuptials are for Luke and Lorelai?! If you remember correctly, a few weeks ago a behind the scenes image was revealed by a fan visiting the revival set — one that postulated an upcoming wedding in Stars Hollow. Of course, it sent the Internet ablaze with more questions than answers. Who's getting hitched? Rory? Rory and Jess? Rory and Logan? Logan and someone else? Babette? Logan and Babette?! Where is Paul Anka?!

Anyway, this could be our answer. Now, whether or not a ceremony is planned for the revival, that I cannot say for sure. However, in the spirit of optimism, I'm thinking it's time to dust off the old chuppah.
