All you die-hard fans of the show out there better sit down, because I regret to inform you that Kocktails with Khloé has been cancelled after just one season. In case you aren't up-to-date on the Kardashian-Jenner clan's every venture, Kocktails with Khloé was a talk show format that Khloé Kardashian did on the network FYI, where she has drinks with a variety of guests. It was an appealing concept, and initially it had even been renewed for a second season, with an additional 15 episodes being ordered on top of the original eight. But the channel backpedaled today, releasing the following statement to The Hollywood Reporter announcing the cancellation:
FYI and Pilgrim Media Group appreciate everyone’s great work on the series and are pleased that the show brought new viewers and significant numbers to FYI’s linear and digital platforms. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Khloé and thank her for her hard work and unique voice that she brought to the series.
Normally I'd be bummed for anyone involved in a show that got axed after a single season, but, in this case, it's hard for me to imagine that this isn't exactly what Khloé wants. For one thing, her entire family has their hands in so many pots that losing one project is no more than a drop in the bucket. And, for another thing, the fact that the show was technically renewed before this reversal and plug-pulling makes me think it might have been Khloé who walked away. Maybe she wasn't loving the show, or maybe had other things she wanted to work on, or maybe I'm wrong on both counts and she's devastated that this show is no more.
But either way, one thing I know for sure is that the resilience of Khloé and her family means they won't be down for long... if they even are now. And in the meantime, you can tune in to the final episode of Kocktails with Khloé, which will air Apr. 20 and feature guests like Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen. Talk about going out with a bang.
