Too Faced and Urban Decay have pretty much dominated the makeup scene when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. But there is always room for another indie brand to get in on the palette action. Jeffree Star Cosmetics is launching Beauty Killer, its first-ever eyeshadow palette, this spring. I will take a pause and allow you to hyperventilate, to express your overwhelming joy at this news, and to compose yourself while recovering. The palette is out on May 25 and will likely be sold on the Jeffree Star Cosmetics site, since it's mostly an e-commerce makeup brand that sells its showstopping wares on its own platform. JSC shared a shot of the hot pink packaging on its official Instagram. So what's in the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer eyeshadow palette?
Oh, just 10 pans of eyeshadow that are vegan and highly pigmented. Since JSC's mega matte Velour Liquid Lipsticks are so color-saturated (and are sold out as often as Kylie Lip Kits), I expect the same for its first-ever shadow palette and it appears I am going to get it! While I have yet to see a photo of what's on the inside —get on that, J. Star— I am expecting bold shades.
In a similar post on his personal Insta, the brand founder and namesake described the shadows as "long lasting" and "extreme pigment."
Don't you love the glossy pink case and the black script font? I am still dying to get a peek of what's inside.
This is the same photo but with more information! Check that caption, yo!
The extra fabulous, always glittery Jeffree Star, who is a musician and a onetime Myspace celeb that reinvented himself in the YouTube makeup tutorial space, has amassed a diehard, cult customer base with his Velour Liquid Lipsticks. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that he is about to deepen that connection with the Beauty Killer palette.
Up until now, JSC had been super lip focused, selling the aforementioned lipsticks and the Velour Lip Scrub. If you are going to rock a precise, defined, and supremely matte lip, you need healthy, smooth, and exfoliated lips. Flaky, chapped puckers need not apply.
Two new products — Skin Frost and Lip Ammunition— are listed as "coming soon" on the official JSC site. Star and Manny MUA showed off a sneak peak of Skin Frost highlighting powders in the pic posted above. Coming soon... but not soon enough.
The Velour liquid lippies are no joke! The company even purchased a liquid lipstick machine so that it can speed the replenishment process along and therefore deliver the matte lipsticks to the fans who want to paint their pouts in faster fashion. Now that's dedication!
That said, here's to hoping the Jeffree Star Cosmetics will share a snap of the colors inside the Beauty Killer palette ASAP. I'm getting anxious and impatient over here.
