Lucien showed his true colors on The Originals , and it's not looking good for Elijah, Klaus, Finn and Kol — or, really, any of the Mikaelson family. After spending the entire episode waiting as Marcel tracked down the last white oak bullet and stole it from a vampire working for an anonymous baddie, Elijah got the last of the white oak in "Alone with Everybody." But, instead of destroying it — a move that would have eliminated the last of the only substance capable of killing an Original vampire — he and his siblings decided to keep it somewhere safe. However, things didn't go as planned: Lucien stole the last white oak bullet on The Originals .
Elijah's plan had always been to destroy the white oak bullet if he found it, but, in a tense family moment, Finn begged him not to. Finn doesn't want to be a vampire forever, and he suggested to Elijah that he might not want to live for all eternity either. So, at Lucien's suggestion, they decide to send Freya to hide it under a mountain of spells to ensure that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Thus, they can all be safe from their enemies while still having a way to end their lives if they so choose. But, as it turns out, this is what Lucien had been counting on all along.
At the beginning of the episode, Lucien paid a vampire to get the last white oak bullet and had her set up a secret auction for it. While Marcel went around town trying to chase down this mysterious new vamp, Lucien went over to the Mikaelsons to flirt with Freya. Once Marcel recovered the bullet and handed it over to Elijah, Lucien was there to suggest to him that they send the bullet away with Freya. Meanwhile, Vincent had a vision from the ancestors of the prophecy that predicted the deaths of Rebekah, Elijah and Klaus, and determined that he was meant to help Lucien, not fight against him. So, he helped Lucien kidnap Freya and get the last white oak bullet.
With Klaus' sire bond broken, Lucien could kill him without dying, but if he wants to take down Elijah, he'll have to go through the Strix first, which seems unlikely. So, what does Lucien really want? And what's he going to do with that last bullet?
