The 'Veep' Teaser Makes Us Want The Show Right Now

by Sam Rullo

Finally, HBO has released a trailer for Season 3 of Veep . Well, a teaser trailer and it comes with a warning: this tease will get you extremely excited the new season. Why is that a bad thing? Because at the end, we are reminded that the third season won't premiere until April 6, the same night as Game of Thrones Season 4.

But even if the teaser will make you count the days until Veep premieres (55, by the way), you have to watch it. Unlike last season's equally excellent trailer, this one keeps the focus on the show's star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Selina Meyer. It starts with a quote from Abraham Lincoln that could really sum up the series as a whole.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

Cut to Vice President Meyer taking out her aggression on some red, white, and blue balloons as her staff looks on. And while we've watched Meyer struggle with power over the past two seasons, the teaser suggests that this season, she actually has some. Previously, most of that struggle had to do with her wanting more, as the President and his staff kept her out of the loop on everything important and her ideas always found themselves covered in red tape.

Maybe this season, we'll get to see what Meyer is like when she actually has real power. It would make sense, since the second season finale had her deciding to run for President in the next election. And if we thought Vice President Meyer was entertaining in office, just imagine what she'll be like on the campaign trail.

I told you it'd be hard.

We've been patiently waiting since June 23, when that season finale aired and now two months have never seemed so long. To help fill that time, here's the new trailer.
