The Bravermans will soon welcome another addition! OK, not really, but Parenthood star Erika Christensen is pregnant with a baby girl. The 33-year-old actor took to Twitter Wednesday, where she announced the news that she and her husband Cole Maness are expecting their first child together. Alongside an adorable photo of her dog, she wrote, "This boy is getting a little sister. A human sister. She'll make her first appearance tomorrow at #Confirmation."
That's exactly what Christensen's impending daughter did. While walking the red carpet at the HBO premiere for Confirmation (also starring Kerry Washington as Anita Hill) on Thursday, March 31, she debuted her baby bump. According to Us Weekly, Christensen is seven months pregnant and kept it a secret for as long as she could. A source at the HBO event told Us, "Both parents are so excited, and were happily joking around with the photographers. She was holding her belly and he was pointing at her, joking, 'I did this!'"
Well, this is definitely very exciting news! As a first-time mom, I'm sure she's trying to learn all she can about parenthood before her little girl arrives. That said, starring on the NBC hit series as Julia Braverman has probably taught her an awful lot.
As Parenthood fans know, Julia was a fierce working mom who loved her kids, Sydney and Victor, unconditionally. Despite the trials and tribulations that sometime come with parenting, she and her husband Joel Graham went above and beyond to be the best parents as possible.
I wonder if Christensen will look to her time on Parenthood to help in her new journey as a mom? If so, here are a few things that may benefit her when it comes to raising a daughter, who will undoubtedly be a princess filled with sunshine and rainbows compared to Julia's bratty daughter, Sydney.
Following Your Heart Sets A Good Example
Julia followed her heart when it came to her marriage and her career, and it set a good example for Sydney. As upsetting as it was for viewers, Julia showed how it's never too late to go after what you want and what you think is best for yourself.
Standing Up For Yourself Shows Strength
Julia always stood up for herself. As the mother of a young daughter, this definitely showed strength and taught Sydney that being strong woman isn't something to be ashamed of, but something to embrace.
There Will Be Both Good & Bad Times
As showcased repeatedly on Parenthood, there were a lot of good times and plenty of bad times. That is what comes with being a parent, so as frustrating and stressed out Julia got at times, she managed to take it all in stride.
Cherish Every Single Moment
As Julia knows all too well, life is way too short and anything can happen at any moment, so appreciate everything being a mom throws your way.
Motherhood Will Be Amazing
Granted, I'm not a mother myself, but based what I've seen from my own mother and while watching Parenthood, being a mom can be one of the most amazing experiences. I think Julia would agree.
Family Dance Parties Are Totally Cool
Even if Christensen's daughter finds this embarrassing, she can always tell her there's never a wrong time to bust out "The Fever."
I'm sure Christensen will learn all kinds of things on her own, but it's pretty handy that Julia Braverman will always be in the back of her mind giving her tips.
