11 Essential Fashion Moments From Emily Gilmore

There are many, many reasons to get excited for the Gilmore Girls revival, and the fabulous existence of Kelly Bishop/Emily Gilmore is certainly one of them. The Gilmore matriarch has always had quite the fashion sense, and it will be exciting to see how she's dressing circa 2016 (I'm guessing she's still rocking the perfectly tailored suits).

The new episodes have a lot lined up for Emily, who will be coming into the revival freshly widowed, after the passing of actor Edward Herrmann. Bishop revealed in an interview with TVLine that her on screen counterpart will be processing her grief in a characteristically Emily Gilmore way — she said, "Well, because of the fact that Emily lost her husband, she’s kind of a raw nerve. In a desperate attempt to push through [her grief], she blows between right on the edge of losing it to almost being a little manic."

Gilmore Girls sans Herrmann will definitely take a lot of getting used to, but it will be interesting to see what new vistas Emily will find in his absence. She's always been something of a fountain of knowledge, and I'm sure she'll continue to dispense invaluable aphorisms in the new series.
