Lauren's Birthday Instagram To Ben Is Adorable

Most Bachelor fans are conditioned to believe that even the sweetest relationships that were born on the show have an expiration date, but lately, I'm more and more convinced the newest couple actually has a fighting chance. It's only been less than two weeks since the season finale, but Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins are still going strong, and now, they're celebrating their first milestone together. On Wednesday, Bushnell wished Higgins a happy birthday on Instagram, and her post was one of the cutest things ever. And what makes it even better? It's just the latest piece of evidence that their relationship could actually last.

Featuring a photo of a few polaroids snapped of the two of them together, Bushnell's post talked about how excited she is to spend all of her birthdays with him. The cynic in me — the one who has been disappointed by too many Bachelor heartbreaks — wants to roll her eyes, but I can't. I mean, I don't want to sound naive, but I'm starting to believe that might actually happen. Could they actually be the first Bachelor couple in three years to make it to the altar?

Oh, and this photo is also more proof that these two are ridiculously beautiful and their children will probably cause the world to implode.

Of course, when you base a relationship — and usually an engagement — on a couple of months worth of televised dates with limited privacy and competition with other women, it's totally understandable that it results in a foundation that can be pretty rocky. But being that Higgins seemed to be Team Lauren B. from the get go, it seems like his heart has truly been with her since the beginning, and now that the show is over, they're finally getting to live like the "normal" couple they've always wanted to be. And in the days since they've been allowed to take their relationship public, it seems like they're off to a really good start.

Need more proof? Just follow Bushnell and Higgins on social media. Although Bushnell wasn't too big on Instagram and Twitter before — at least, compared to some people (me) who update multiple times daily — she's been posting about her new life with Higgins, and not just the exciting, post-finale promotion stuff. She's been sharing the mundane things, too, like a photo of Ben drinking coffee and checking his phone after they woke up the next morning, and her excitement over their first real date, so it seems like they are working on building that common ground of "regular" experiences and loving it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for these two. Maybe they'll make it and restore more of my faith in this franchise? So far, so good!
