7 Natural Ways To Remove Lipstick

Being as big of a makeup enthusiast as I am, it might be surprising to know that I used to never wear lipstick until recently. Don't get me wrong, I love how it accentuates my pucker, but it was always the stress of taking it off or eating with it on that dissuaded me from wearing it. However, after learning about all of the natural ways to remove lipstick, I learned that removing my rouge couldn't be simpler, not to mention gentler and more affordable, too!

Before I learned about how to naturally remove lipstick, I would use a couple of makeup remover wipes and finish with some face wash. In the end, my lips began to suffer because of all the scrubbing I had to do to remove my matte lipstick. I mean, using a wipe was effective, but I wanted to find a more natural and gentler way. This launched my Internet quest to find ways to remove my lipstick in a healthier and safer way. Turns out, there are so many natural lipstick remover alternatives, folks.

The next time you want to rock a fierce red lipstick, fear not, because taking it off doesn't have to be as difficult as it used to be. Here are some ways to remove it the all-natural way:

Use Vaseline

Vaseline 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly, $7, Amazon

This is one of my favorite items to use when removing makeup. Just swab a little on a cotton ball or Q-tip and remove your lipstick like you normally would. Vaseline works great to remove all the product completely, but also soothes your skin when using it.

Try Coconut Oil

Viva Labs Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, $10, Amazon

Coconut oil is used for a lot of beauty purposes, but it works really great for removing lipstick. Not only does it smell and taste good, but it gets the job done with ease and efficiency.

Experiment With Baking Soda & Honey

Honey Stinger Organic Honey From Wildflowers, $9, Amazon

I've never tried this technique before, but Natural Beauty Tips swears by it. They advised, "Just put a little organic honey on a clean wash cloth and sprinkle in some baking soda on it and wow – you get your own natural makeup remover!"

Try Olive Oil

Pompeian Imported Extra Virgin Olive Oil, $9, Amazon

Just like coconut oil, olive oil is also great when trying to remove your lipstick. It's really light on your lips and gets rid of all the leftover stains you may have. It's really great for those liquid lip stains and long-lasting lipsticks.

Use Milk

Organic Valley Whole Milk Single Serve 12 Pack, $14, Amazon

I know it sounds kind of weird, but milk actually works when it comes to removing makeup. Mostly used for eye makeup, milk can also be a really great way to get rid of the color on your lips.

Make A Cucumber Paste

I actually never thought of this before, but Medical Daily suggests using cucumbers because they have "anti-inflammatory properties" which can "help to soothe irritated skin or acne-prone skin." What does it take to make a paste? It's simple. "Take one cucumber and blend it into a paste. Use it as a cleanser on your face. If you have tough makeup to remove, add a little bit of milk or olive oil to the mixture." I mean it makes sense, so why not try it?

Use Yogurt

Just like milk's properties, yogurt can also be a great natural way to remove your makeup. It will also help soothe your skin.

Now go and keep that lipstick game strong.
