On Thursday, TV critic and Gilmore Girls superfan Michael Ausiello took to his TV Line column Ask Ausiello to reveal what could be the mother of all Gilmore Girls spoilers. Sadly, though, the whole thing is in code. Fear not, though, Stars Hollow junkies — any code can be cracked even if it basically consists of just 11 words and a whole lot of CIA-style redactions. Ausiello is clearly in the know, and while he says he vowed to Amy Sherman-Palladino not to spoil this secret finale news, this spoiler is just way too tempting to not try to figure it out.
Here is what you have to work with: In answer to a fan named Diane craving fresh Gilmore Girls spoilers, Ausiello wrote:
I promised AS-P I wouldn’t say anything, but, eh, screw it. It’s just too big. And I don’t feel right keeping it from you. OK, here it goes: In the final of the four installments, "Fall," Lorelai [redacted] [spoiler] [spoiler] [redacted] [spoiler] [redacted] the [spoiler] [redacted] [spoiler] [spoiler] in [redacted] [spoiler] [spoiler].
Does it look like gibberish? Absolutely. But, I believe there is an actual sentence in there containing information that could offer up a huge Gilmore Girls secret. The only way to crack the code is to play a bit of Gilmore Girls mad libs. So, are you ready to play?
Solution One
In the final of the four installments, "Fall," Lorelai moves out of her house, giving the keys to Emily Gilmore in a surprise twist.
Because Stars Hollow could be just what Emily needs! This is harder than it looks.
Solution Two
In the final of the four installments, "Fall," Lorelai agrees to walk with Rory down the aisle, ending the show in a double wedding.
Hey, why can't both of the younger Gilmore women be brides? It would be amazing to see them take such an important step together.
Solution Three
In the final of the four installments, "Fall," Lorelai, Luke, Rory, Jess, and Emily say the famous last four words in Luke's diner together.
Slightly anticlimactic? Maybe, but the show has to end in the diner again. It's only fitting.
Solution Four
In the final of the four installments, "Fall," Lorelai is marrying Luke when Christopher crashes the ceremony and ends up in the groom's suit.
That sound you hear is my heart, shattering at the very thought.
Solution Five
In the final of the four installments, "Fall," Lorelai gives Jess her blessing and then the former bad boy leaves in search of Rory.
Literati fans never say die!
Solution Six
In the final of the four installments, "Fall," Lorelai, Rory, and Emily say goodbye to the Gilmore house all together in the final scene.
The house just won't be a home without Richard there.
Solution Seven
In the final of the four installments, "Fall," Lorelai and Luke drive away from the town of Stars Hollow in the final scene.
Nothing would feel quite as final as seeing Lorelai move away from Stars Hollow.
Those are my, admittedly strange, guesses. This Gilmore clue could be major guys, so be sure to share your own theories.
