'HTGAWM' Introduced A Brand New Murder

by Kelly Schremph

Is it possible for a television show to shock you to death? Because that’s exactly what it felt like while watching the How To Get Away With Murder Season 2 finale. (This is actually my ghost self typing all of this. Hello from the other siiiide!) Anyway, what I’m trying to say here is that this show may be crazy and sometimes just downright confusing, but it'll leave you on the edge of your seat until the bitter end. For example, you probably didn't think that Wes' reunion with his supposed dad, Wallace Mahoney, would end in a total bloodbath. And yet, that's precisely what ended up happening by the end of the hour when someone shot and killed Wallace Mahoney right in front of Wes on the streets of New York City.

So, who exactly is to blame for all of this? The obvious answer would be Frank, considering that he's been living with 10 years of pent-up guilt over helping to facilitate the car crash that killed Annalise's baby. (Wallace had ordered the hit to take place.) And, now that Annalise finally knows the role that Frank played in it, he may have thought killing Wallace would be a way of somehow making it up to her. (Which, that's kind of sweet, right? You know, if straight up killing people can ever be considered a sweet gesture. IDK, this show is messing with my moral compass.)

However, given that this show rarely makes things easy for us, then a big part of me wonder if the culprit is actually not Frank at all. Maybe that's a little too obvious? Then again, the fact that Frank cleared out all of his possessions sure makes him seem super guilty. But, I guess that's part of the beauty of this show? Anyone could be guilty because literally everyone has gotten away with murder.
