Shailene Is Not A Blonde Anymore
With spring right around the corner, you're probably starting to think about booking your salon appointment to lighten up your hair color — but you might want to consider going in a slightly different direction. Shailene Woodley went brunette, according to People Magazine, and it looks so gorgeous, that it makes a serious case for going dark this season instead of blonde.
You generally think about brightening up in the warmer months, and last year we saw our fair share of pastel colors and golden "bronde" dye jobs, but this year there's a new trend, and it's slightly unexpected: considerably darker locks. Woodley followed in Sarah Hyland's and Sarah Michelle Gellar's footsteps, who both went dark last week, debuting a chocolate brown 'do at Monday night's New York City Allegiant premiere. And she looks, as per usual, stunning. There's no time like a red carpet premiere to make a major hair change, for reals.
The new, darker hair is for her role in the TV series, Big Little Lies, but it looks pretty great on her, so maybe she'll keep it around for a while. Either way, I'm kind of digging the whole drastically different hair color direction for spring.
The darker color looks gorgeous against her pale skin, and it adds some drama to her look. From far away, it almost looks black, but when you see it up close:
You can tell it's more of a deep chocolate, which is usually the go-to fall/winter shade, but we were due for a shake-up at some point. It's quite a departure from the blonde 'do she was rocking before:
Though she had brown in her hair to add depth and dimension, she was primarily golden blonde, so I'm wondering if she'll lighten up again when filming is over. Although, she's been brunette recently, too...
And she totally rocked it. But now that her hair is longer, it updates the look and feels completely different, so I'm hoping it sticks around for a while.
Brown is the new bronde.
