Can you hear the three-eyed ravens chirping, letting you know that Spring is in the air? Game of Thrones Season 6 will be here before we know it, so it's about time to take stock of the characters who aren't Jon Snow and what they will be up to when the HBO series returns. Will Daario and Tyrion team up on Game of Thrones ?
Whether Tyrion takes up Daario Naharis' old profession and becomes a sell-sword in the Second Sons, like he does in the A Song Of Ice And Fire books, or in turn Daario joins Tyrion's advisory counsel in Meereen, I have a feeling that this could be one of the show's next great duos. We already know that "the adventures of Sansa and Theon" are coming, so why not these crazy kids? Plus. Daenerys is busy getting back to her Dothraki roots, so this team-up seems inevitable.
There are a lot of fan theories about Daario, apparently he's both Euron Greyjoy and Benjen Stark in disguise, but I think something like this is more likely to happen. At the end of Season 5, Daario fought against the siege of Meereen and is left there with Tyrion and Varys. In the books, Daario becomes a prisoner once Dany flies out of Meereen and the Yunkai take over. However, as much as prison cells seem to be a right of passage in Westeros, I can't think of what dramatic good that would do on the HBO series. Daario is better off with the banished Lannister.
While we don't know much about Daario, he has already proven to be a valuable advisor. We know from his scenes with Daenerys that he understands Essos politics and customs — especially as someone who was sold into slavery as a child. He's the one who convinced her to reopen the fighting pits. Daario, Missandei and Grey Worm provide a valuable perspective that Tyrion should take advantage of if he wants to rule. Daario is also fluent in the Common Tongue and High Valyrian, which is an impressive skill. Finally, the last reason I think these two are destined to work together is that Daario and Tyrion share a respect of Daenerys Targaryen — but not in a way that would impede their partnership with jealousy. (Looking at you, Ser Jorah. Please stay banished.)
