Another day, another Amanda Knox film. This time, instead of starring Hayden Panettiere and premiering on Lifetime (as 2011's Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy did), this one only seems to be inspired by the case, and will focus more on the trial and those investigating than on whether or not Knox is guilty of the crime for which she was accused. That is, anyway, judging by the first teaser for Face of an Angel, which stars Kate Beckinsale, Daniel Brühl, and Cara Delevingne.
It's the first footage that has been premiered from the film, so it doesn't give us a full sense of what to expect — but still, it does a good job of introducing us to the leads. In the film, Brühl portrays a filmmaker who travels to Italy to research a film that is based off of a book about the Knox-inspired case. He heads to the country with the book's author, portrayed by Kate Beckinsale, and, according to The Guardian, "becomes embroiled in the sensational case." He also ends up getting into a bit of a relationship with a British student, who is portrayed by model Delevingne.
You can check out the teaser below. The project, which was directed by Welcome to Sarajevo director Michael Winterbottom, is currently in post-production — it seems likely that the teaser was released now due to the Knox case once again being in the headlines due to Italy retrying and finding her guilty of murder.
