Ginnifer Goodwin Spills Major 'OUAT' Beans
We're only about five days away from the premiere of Once Upon A Time Season 5B, and while we already know a whole lot about what to expect — we're going to the Underworld to try and save Hook, we're reuniting with some old faces, we'll end up heading to Oz at some point to check in on Zelena, etc. — there's one major question still hanging in the air about the second half of the season. The wonderfully lovely Emilie De Ravin is pregnant in real life, and it's unknown whether or not the showrunners will write the pregnancy into Belle's storyline. But seriously, enough with the coyness — will there be a Rumbelle baby or not? Turns out Ginnifer Goodwin might be just as bad as Snow White at keeping secrets and she may have confirmed the storyline.
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Goodwin joked about her own real-life pregnancy (she and husband Josh Dallas are expecting their second child later this year), saying that this time around, Snow and Charming wouldn't be welcoming any new members to their family. After all, Once recently dealt with Zelena's troublesome pregnancy, plus De Ravin's... oh wait, did she mean to say that?
Goodwin recovered pretty quickly, joking that Once could feature a "curse of babies" where all the female residents of Storybrooke suddenly fall pregnant. That definitely sounds like a curse, and thankfully she's joking. However, fans of the series can't help but pick up on her comments and feel hopeful that they mean a Rumbelle baby is most certainly guaranteed. Otherwise, why mention that De Ravin's pregnancy was one of the reasons that Snow White wouldn't be pregnant yet again on the show? (Never mind how awful that would be for Emma, who already probably feels a bit put out by Snow and Charming's new turn at parenthood.)
Sure, it's a one-off comment that was said in passing and Goodwin doesn't actually write the show, but we already know that Belle could indeed be pregnant. After all, Season 5A ended with Belle and Rumple clearly having re-consummated their relationship, so it's certainly within the realm of possibility. Thankfully, we may not have to wait much longer to find out if this is indeed the plan. A little Rumbelle baby could be disastrous, or it could just be the making of both characters. We'll have to wait and see.
