Among the various reasons to watch Sunday night's Academy Awards, there's a major question that's spurring people to tune in: Will Leonardo DiCaprio finally win an Oscar? There's no denying that the public is fascinated by the idea that Leo has been a star for decades, but has yet to snag one of those gold trophies. This year he's nominated for Best Actor for his work in The Revenant , so naturally people are wondering if 2016 will be his year. Regardless of whether he takes home the award, at least he has a huge support system, including none other than Adele. On Sunday, Adele tweeted her support for DiCaprio along with a hilarious photo of herself posing by a replica of the Titanic's staircase. She wrote,
Good luck Leo! Everyone loves you because you're the best. Meet me at the clock anytime bruv X
There's no denying that the "Hello" singer not only has the voice of an angel, but the sense of humor of a true comedian. Her "meet me at the clock" line is an obvious Titanic reference, since that's where DiCaprio's character Jack asked Kate Winslet's Rose to meet him in the 1997 movie. It also appears that Adele dressed the part.
At first, I thought that Adele photoshopped the image and I wouldn't have been surprised by her dedication. Then I saw that Titanic Belfast, the "world's largest Titanic visitor experience" in Ireland, retweeted the singer's photo and thanked her for stopping by. Apparently she visited for afternoon tea and seized the opportunity to recreate that DiCaprio memory.
Regardless of the story behind the photo, its message is loud and clear. Adele is Team Leo, and even if he doesn't win, she still loves the actor. Having the singer's support automatically makes him a winner in my book. Plus, it's worth noting that Adele won an Oscar in 2013 for Best Original Song, so maybe she's magically transferring her winning luck to him through that tweet. Fingers crossed!
