The 'Star Wars' Cast On The 2016 Red Carpet
The looks were far cry from the utilitarian or high-tech gear that they wore in the movie, but that didn't stop the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens from looking totally amazing on the 2016 Oscars red carpet. Well, at least the one cast member who showed up on the carpet.
The movie is nominated for five awards, including Film Editing, Original Score, Visual Effects, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing. Die-hard fans are probably questioning why it wasn't nominated for Best Picture (after all, it totally made us all cry), but there were some big contenders this year, including The Revenant, The Big Short, and The Martian.
That being said, there should be some kind of special award for the style game that some members of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast brought to the red carpet.
The ensemble cast included actors like Lupita Nyong'o, Adam Driver, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac. The stand-out so far tonight was Ridley. Not only because she was the only cast member on the carpet, but because she went from being a relatively unknown actor to being catapulted into stardom with one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood history. Naturally, she had to bring her A-game tonight. The actor wore an insanely beautiful Chanel haute couture gown on the red carpet with almost too much sparkle to handle. See her look below.
Daisy Ridley
She'll be presenting an award during the show tonight, but the force was with Ridley on the red carpet tonight in this dress with unusual peplum detailing.
The best part of her look was her hair, though, which may have been a futuristic nod to her character's sci-fi sartorial sensibilities.
Thanks for representing, Ridley!
