Some people might still be coming to terms with the fact that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are an item. Hey, girl, get over it. With these two, first came dating, then came love, and as most know, next came a baby girl named Esmeralda Amada. Obviously, soon after a celeb couple have a child, fans anxiously await pictures of the baby. Well, it seems that you're going to be waiting a long time for The Place Beyond the Pines actors to do just that. That's right, photos of Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes' baby don't exist.
To be clear, neither actor have shared or released pictures of their daughter who was born in 2014. However, in November 2015, the Daily Mail shared images of Mendes, Gosling, and Esmeralda on Halloween. As far as I can tell, this has been the only sighting of Esmeralda. I'm sure her parents wouldn't be thrilled with the fact that photos of their child are being taken without their and her consent, because not only are they an extremely private couple, but they made a vow as parents to protect Esmeralda from the paparazzi and any unwanted attention.
While chatting with the website Violet Grey in November 2014, Mendes both confirmed the birth of her child and spoke about how much privacy means to her and Gosling. She said,
Whether we like it or not, privacy is going to be very difficult for Esmeralda. I think it’s unfair, but that’s our reality. Ryan and I decided early on to give her as much privacy as we could. And my pregnancy was the first opportunity to give her that.
In December 2014, Mendes appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she once again discussed how it's their priority to keep their daughter away from the limelight. The Hitch actor told Ellen DeGeneres,
Early on, we decided it's going to be very hard for her to have privacy. And we thought this is the first opportunity we can give her to protect her, and so then I had a nice calm pregnancy.
That said, while chatting with DeGeneres, the talk show host did share a picture of Esmeralda, aka "the one she sent DeGeneres." Obviously, it wasn't a real photo of her daughter, but only a composite of Mendes and Gosling's faces mashed together.
Upon seeing the image for the first time, Mendes exclaimed, "Isn't she adorable?" DeGeneres added, "She looks like both of you, doesn't she? It's hard to say who she's more like." You can check out faux Esmeralda below. FYI, there is no doubt in my mind that Gosling and Mendes' daughter is way cuter than DeGeneres' version.
Sorry to break it to you, but it doesn't seem like you'll be seeing photos of Esmeralda anytime soon. If pictures are ever shared of her, it will be on Mendes and Gosling's terms.
