Here's When Beyoncé's New Album Is Rumored To Drop

by Alex Kritselis

Ever since Beyoncé "changed the game with that digital drop" — aka the surprise release of her last studio album, BEYONCÉ, in December 2013 — she's been incredibly tight-lipped when it comes to her music. However, in the social media age, it's becoming increasingly difficult for pop stars — yes, even King B — to keep their upcoming projects under wraps. For example, although many people were shocked when Beyoncé premiered "Formation" earlier this month, whispers of the song's impending debut began circulating online a few days prior. A lot of fans thought the new track's arrival meant the singer would would finally reveal details about her much-anticipated sixth studio LP, "B6." But, frustratingly, she's remained silent. So, when is Beyoncé's new album coming out?

The only person who knows the answer to that question for certain is Beyoncé herself (and perhaps even she doesn't know yet!). Fortunately, new rumors about the forthcoming collection's release date are popping up online every day, and sooner or later, I have to believe one of them is going to be correct. Here's the latest scoop on when we can (maybe? possibly?) expect Bey's new album to hit the scene:

According to music news website Hits Daily Double (HDD), Beyoncé 's new album could be released in April. Hey, that wouldn't be so bad! Of course, this information is posted under HDD's "Rumor Mill" section, so it's totally unconfirmed. I know, I know. Bummer.

Still, it's worth noting that HDD was, to my knowledge, one of the first sources to correctly report the release date of Adele's last album, 25 . Make of that what you will.

Personally, I think an April premiere for Beyoncé's new album would make a lot of sense. Though her stylist claimed to have heard the album earlier this month, we all know Bey is a perfectionist, so it's entirely possible that she's not finished recording yet. Additionally, an April premiere would mean the LP could arrive before the start of the Formation World Tour, which kicks off on April 27 in Miami. Sounds plausible, right?

Hopefully, Beyoncé won't keep us in suspense too much longer. But alas, she's Beyoncé, so she almost certainly will. Stay strong, Beyhive! Together, we'll make it through this.
