There Was A New Firestorm On 'Legends Of Tomorrow'

by Kelly Schremph

We've seen firsthand how powerful Firestorm can be. So just imagine if that power was placed into the wrong hands... villainous hands. But thankfully, our Legends were once again able to evade such a disastrous union coming to pass. During Thursday night's episode "Fail-Safe," Martin Stein and Valentina Vostok merged into Soviet Firestorm on Legends of Tomorrow , though this little half-evil union fortunately didn't last for long. Jackson was able to help Stein pull himself out of Valentina's hold and since she decided to merge without the splicer, their suddenly separation lead to some pretty explosive results. But does this mean that Soviet Firestorm was destroyed completely in the process? One can only hope at this point.

Given everything that I've seen on TV these days, I'm hesitant to just assume that a problem is solved unless I'm presented with undeniable proof. And even then it still takes some convincing. So while I'd like to assume that Valentina died in that massive explosion, I wouldn't put it past this show to make her pop up expectedly somewhere down the line. This Russian scientist is clearly a dangerous woman and I"m not too sure the writers are fully done telling her story.

I mean, think about it. A Soviet Firestorm would be insanely dangerous. And while Stein is no longer in that particular time period anymore, that doesn't mean that Valentina (if she survived) or any of her fellow comrades would stop trying to find a way to bring this creation to fruition. But hey, maybe I'm just way too paranoid. Maybe she really is dead and Soviet Firestorm will never show up on our radar ever again. But honestly, when has a superhero series ever made anything that easy?
