Jillian Michaels & Heidi Rhoades Are So Cute

We’ve known Jillian Michaels for years as a reality fitness guru on shows like The Biggest Loser and Losing It with Jillian. But, we are finally seeing Michaels in a new light on her new E! reality series Just Jillian . The series chronicles Michaels’ hectic life at home with her two adorable children and domestic partner. Now, fans are wondering how long have Jillian Michaels and Heidi Rhoades been together?

In a clip promoting Just Jillian for E! Online, Michaels revealed that she and Rhoades have been together for seven years and that the couple is not married. Michaels has explained on the show that it's not marriage she doesn’t believe in, but divorce. So, she said they feel more comfortable as partners, not spouses.

Michaels had been pretty private about her relationship until the birth of her son Phoenix and adoption of her daughter Lukensia — which happened just days apart. The family rapidly grew in 2012, when Rhoades gave birth to Phoenix on May 3 and then 2-year-old Lukensia was brought home from Haiti on May 12, according to People magazine. This international adoption and birth were not planned to coincide. Michaels told People that Rhoades came up with the idea of giving birth after Michaels was feeling let down with dead ends in their adoption journey. "Heidi was feeling invested in us, and she was like, 'What if I try to get pregnant and whatever happens happens?" Michaels told People. "I said, 'Baby, if that's what you want to do and that's what's meant to be, then I support you.'"

The People article also reported that the couple began dating in 2009. And, many fans only found out about Rhoades when media outlets began sharing the story of the family’s fast expansion. At the time, Michaels also spoke to Redbook about why she chose to make her story public with the growth of her family.

Heidi wanted to keep her life private. But, when we were having kids, I thought, 'How am I supposed to hide a newborn?' So we thought, 'Let's talk about it.' It wasn't so much about coming out. It was more about, OK, this is my family.
