Why Isn't Rihanna At The 2016 Grammys?

Though the world was waiting on the edge of their seats for Rihanna's 2016 Grammys performance, alas — it was not meant to be. Though the "Bitch Better Have My Money" singer was slated to perform during music's biggest night, midway through the show, reports surfaced on TMZ that she reportedly abruptly canceled her performance due to illness. But, where was Rihanna during the 2016 Grammys, then? According to TMZ, she was literally at the Staples Center in L.A. when the show began, but unable to sing live — so she left after rehearsals. Talk about frustrating AF.

According to TMZ, Rihanna was at the Staples Center for rehearsals but did not walk the red carpet. The site reports that Bad Gal RiRi has been suffering from bronchitis and is on medication for it — and though she showed up for rehearsals with all intents to power through the number (TMZ claims she was going to sing "Kiss Me Better"), her doctor recommended that she didn't go through with it... much to the disappointment of Rihanna, the entire Grammys audience, and literally everyone watching at home. According to TMZ, a reluctant Rihanna ultimately listened, and headed on her way home.
