Though not all of the relationships on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette work out, many of the friendships do. The people on the show are like one big happy family, and my favorite pair of best friends to emerge from The Bachelor (and Bachelor In Paradise) is that of Jade Roper and Carly Waddell. They bonded on Chris Soules’ season of The Bachelor and cemented it all on Bachelor In Paradise, and even lived in Nashville at the same time so they could hang all the time. Now, at the height of Bachelor best friend-dom, Carly wrote a love song for Jade’s wedding to Tanner Tolbert. How adorable is that? Carly is a super talented singer and songwriter, and she did not disappoint.
The song was played at Jade and Tanner’s wedding during The Bachelor at 20: A Celebration of Love special, and, boy, was it a tearjerker. Even though the wedding was televised, it was really beautiful — all of Bachelor Nation was there, and you could really feel the love in the room. People can be cynical about all of The Bachelor cast attending all of these ceremonies, but these people are actually friends! I would want my closest friends at my wedding, especially if they were there while my man and I were falling in love.
Would you let your best friend sing at your wedding? You probably would if she sounded like this, with lyrics like, "You are the answer to my question/You are the answer to my prayers/And I knew that the minute I saw you standing there." There wasn't a dry eye in the house, including my own house. Watch the clip of it and tell me you don't need a hanky, too. What a great wedding gift, Carly!
