Something funny happens when you're one of the biggest music stars in the world, you change the name of your new album several times, you make people wait most of album's release day to hear any of it, and then you finally unveil your songs during a livestream at Madison Square Garden in NYC where you're performing a sold-out concert-slash-fashion-show: people get really, really, freakin' excited. Just in case you've been hiding under a rock today, the scenario I'm describing Kanye West and his new album, The Life Of Pablo . Yeezy's adoring fans finally got to witness the glory of the album for themselves this Thursday, and, judging by the reactions on Twitter, they absolutely lost their sh*t.
The kind of effusive reactions that we're seeing are the kind you might expect to be reserved for the Second Coming, the birth of a royal baby, or Leonardo DiCaprio finally winning an Oscar. (Of course, given that Kanye's own self-dubbed nickname is "Yeezus," maybe that Second Coming analogy isn't so far off.) The world hasn't been this riled up about a piece of music since… well, since this past Sunday, when everybody and their mother was talking about Beyoncé's Super Bowl halftime show.
