Kanye West Finally Revealed What T.L.O.P. Means

by Tanya Ghahremani

Only a few days after challenging the Internet to guess the full title of his upcoming album based off of an acronym, T.L.O.P. (and offering free Yeezys and tickets to his upcoming fashion show to the person who guessed the title correctly), Kanye West has finally revealed the meaning of T.L.O.P. — and it's certainly unexpected. In a tweet, West shared the final tracklist for the album he called The Life Of Pablo, along with a photo listing 10 songs. No explanation was given as to who "Pablo" is or anything like that — I mean, that would be too logical, of course, to offer an explanation — but the words fit with the acronym, so it's likely pretty safe to say that the album formerly known as So Help Me God , then SWISH , then WAVES , officially has a new name.

West's big album title reveal comes one day before the actual album is set to drop — The Life of Pablo will be released on Feb. 11, and will also be played in full for fans at Madison Square Garden during a presentation of West's Yeezy Season 3 fashion show on the same day. (Don't worry: The show will livestream on TIDAL at 4 p.m. ET on Feb. 11 for those unable to acquire tickets, which I assume is most people.)

Though the reveal of what T.L.O.P. actually stands for has me asking more questions than before (who is Pablo? Did West just finish marathoning Narcos on Netflix and want to dedicate his album title to Pablo Escobar? Is "Pablo" really just a thinly-veiled reference to Miley Cyrus' "Pablow the Blowish"?!), I gotta say, I'm really relieved to finally have some answers. I was totally convinced that T.L.O.P. stood for something like "The Love Of Power," so, you know, it's nice to know that I know as much as Jon Snow.
