Kanye West Changed His Album Name Yet Again

Just when our ears traded in their basketballs and hoops for swim fins and boogie boards, Kanye West has switched up the name of his seventh studio album (f.k.a. So Help Me God, SWISH , and WAVES ) once again. Go ahead and tell your ears to pack up their beach gear, because on Feb. 11, they won’t be riding any WAVES: Monday evening, musical genius and Twitter poet Kanye West tweeted, “@studio /final verses /new album title T.L.O.P.” Come Thursday, your ears will be surfing on a T.L.O.P. …whatever that is.

Seriously though, what does "T.L.O.P." mean? For now, the “No More Parties In L.A.” rapper is keeping the answer under wraps. Shortly after the initial T.L.O.P. announcement, Ye tweeted, “That's the new album anybody who can figure out the title gets tickets to Season 3 and free Yeezys.” Whoa. The guessin' stakes are HIGH.

In just two days, Ye’s to-be-released album is slated to drop. Do you know what could happen between then and now? ANYTHING. And by “anything,” I mean “at least a dozen more album title changes.” But let us just go ahead and assume T.L.O.P. is the official, final, not-to-be-changed album title. If that is the case, why might he be keeping the meaning behind the acronym a secret? What's the deal? Will he ever actually share the meaning? Will anyone ever guess the meaning? Is the meaning even guessable? Why hasn't he shared the meaning already? What giiiiives?

Maybe, just maybe... “T.L.O.P.” is actually short for an acrostic poem that exceeds Twitter’s current 140 character limit.

Maybe, just maybe...“T.L.O.P.” is mnemonic device for his family's secret chocolate chip and walnut cookie recipe.

Maybe, just maybe... “T.L.O.P.” is not an acronym, but an onomatopoeia for the sound of tortellini soup being ladled into a bowl. Why would Kanye keep that hush-hush? Obviously, because he wouldn’t want to alienate anyone who isn’t a fan of tortellini soup. Obviously.

Maybe, just maybe...“T.L.O.P.” is short for secret key that’ll unlock all of the universe’s mysteries.

Maybe, just maybe... “T.L.O.P.” is an acronym for a magic spell. And maybe, just maybe, when said magic spell is uttered it will open up the door to another dimension.

Maybe, just maybe... “T.L.O.P.” is short for a phrase that would unleash a powerful force that would melt our mortal ears and mortal eyes and mortal faces and mortal minds. You know, like that scene at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Or maybe, just maybe... Kanye West just loves a good guessing game/fan contest/tidal wave of @-replies.
