Will Beyoncé Add More Formation Tour Dates?
At some point every year we get solidly stuck in a sort of surprise Beyoncé whirlwind, and, two months into 2016, we seem to have entered this year's particular storm. Between her Black Panther-inspired Super Bowl performance and the music video for "Formation" unexpectedly dropping, the winds are howling hard (and don't get me started on all the weird controversy surrounding that track). Yet the cherry on top of Beyoncé season is that she's definitely going back on a world tour, with a solid 40 dates announced... some not necessarily anywhere near your town. So you have to wonder, will Beyoncé add more Formation tour dates?
First of all, let's break this down. As far as American tour dates go, Beyoncé is doing a lot of double dates. She has two dates in Florida, two in Texas, two in Pennsylvania, three in California, and a few things up and down the coasts in major cities, and a whole gap in the midwest. I mean, I don't particularly care about the what happens in North Dakota or whatever (sorry, North Dakota Beyoncé fans), but I am pretty disturbed that there's only one New York tour date. Granted, it's at Citi Field, but I don't even know if a stadium can hold all of Beyoncé's New Yorker fans. So you see the concern.
But, as of right now, it's unclear if Beyoncé is going to expand on this world tour. After all, 40 dates is a lot, and she has to go be Beyoncé in a slew of other arenas (not literal arenas, like... arenas of life). I wouldn't rule it out completely, though. When Beyoncé gets back from the European leg of her tour, it's very plausible she could loop back to North America, or maybe kick ass in a difference continent. I guess we'll see.
You best make the judgment call now, though, because tickets go on sale pretty soon. If you're looking for a great post-Valentine's Day gift (for yourself), the North American tickets go on sale February 16, while the European tickets go on sale one day earlier on February 15.
Alternately, if you have a Beyhive membership, you can get advance tickets on February 9. If you want to rush on that, you might be asking, how do you get a Beyhive membership? You just wanna waltz right over to Beyoncé's official website and sign up. Even if that proves unhelpful, it's a smart move for any hardcore Beyoncé fan.
Anyway, for the time being you can scroll down and check out Beyoncé's North American tour dates, with the full list available here. Fingers crossed that she'll make good on a few more dates after she gets back from Europe, and if not... well, best of luck for you who are in North Dakota, I'm sure you'll be able to figure something out.
