Going to the gym, sometimes, is such a drag. Especially when you'd rather be at home eating chocolates and watching binge-watching Friends . But as we know, exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, and happy people just don't kill their husbands!! The first step is deciding to go to the gym. The second is putting on your gym clothes (from experience I can tell you having cute gym clothes will make it much easier to actually convince yourself to put them on). The third step is actually going to the gym and getting there without making some excuse to turn back. Once you're actually at the gym, it's up to you to work out and not just sit on the squat machine looking at Twitter on your phone.

Perhaps you need a little extra motivation to work out. That's fine, I think most of us do. Unfortunately for us mere mortals, however, a personal trainer barking Jillian Michaels- style fitness at you probably doesn't fit into the weekly budget. So when you're lagging on the elliptical, you might need to turn to some kind of ridiculously inspirational quote from an inspirational person to keep you going. Personally, my go to is "If Khloe Kardashian can do it, so can I". Which is a quote by me. Feel free to use it for yourself. You're welcome. Meanwhile, here are some quote from some actually experienced people to help motivate you at the gym:

1. Khloe Kardashian

Khloe Kardashian's "fitness journey" has been a publicly documented triumph. On Instagram last year she wrote:

"My fitness journey will be a life-long journey. Fitness is not about being better than someone else... It's about being better than you used to be. I'm not where I want to be, and who knows if I ever will be. But I am healthier than ever, and due to my consistent workouts, I am slowly seeing results. Hi baby abs!! I see you!!! I hope to meet your other ab friends soon (yes, I'm talking to my muscles. I've never met most of them before)."

2. Muhammad Ali

It's nice to hear one of history's greatest athletes hated working out too:

“I hated every minute of the training, but I said: ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’”

3. Oprah

Of course Oprah has an inspiring quote for you. "Inspiring quote" is basically the meaning of the word "Oprah."

“What I know for sure is this: The big secret in life is that there is no big secret. Whatever your goal for this year is, you can get there — as long as you're willing to be honest with yourself about the preparation and work involved. There are no back doors, no free rides. There's just you, this moment, and a choice.”

4. Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee gives some mystic sounding advice on pushing yourself that will hopefully help you transcend your physical limitations:

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus; and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them."

5. Venus Williams

A two time gold medalist, you can take Venus Williams' motivational quotes as gospel:

"You have to believe in yourself when no one else does — that makes you a winner right there."

6. Jason Statham

Jason Statham's fitness inspiration is basically a quote from Crank:

"Your body is like a piece of dynamite. You can tap it with a pencil all day, but you’ll never make it explode. You hit it once with a hammer: Bang!"

7. Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens' inspirational quote is ripped right out the pages of Elle Woods' Feel Good Daily. Forget all the body stuff, and just focus on how good exercise makes you feel:

"Exercise is so amazing from the inside out. I feel so alive and have so much energy."

8. Michelle Obama

When you're feeling down and the gym seems like a stretch, keep in mind that the First Lady uses exercise to de-stress:

"Exercise is really important to me—it's therapeutic. So if I'm ever feeling tense or stressed or like I'm about to have a meltdown, I'll put on my iPod and head to the gym."
