You would think when the biggest star on the planet gives a company an amazing shout-out, they would be quick to reply. However, when Beyoncé's "Formation" gave Red Lobster a major nod with the empowering line, "When he f*** me good, I take him to Red Lobster," it took the restaurant chain hours to respond. Bey's fans were busy freaking out over the amazing lyric, but Red Lobster took its time formulating a response, and the final product was actually pretty tame. On Saturday night, the company tweeted, "Cheddar Bey Biscuits" has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
Cheddar Bey Biscuits, Red Lobster? That's it? I don't even think the "has a nice ring to it" is a callback to "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," although if it was, I'd be pretty impressed. It's a bit disappointing that Red Lobster had hours to think up a witty response, knowing that their newly adoring public was waiting, and this was the best they could come up with. Besides, everyone already knew that those cheddar biscuits were damn good.
In the time since the tweet's appearance, Bey fans have already called the company out with hilarious accuracy. Check out the original Tweet below, as well as the best fan responses to Red Lobster's comment. Maybe the next time Queen Bey gives a company some flawless free advertising, it can come up with something more interesting than a joke about biscuits.
