Back in 2013, Beyonce headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show receiving an assist from her former Destiny's Child bandmates. For Super Bowl 50, Beyonce was the guest performer and she rocked long, curly blonde hair. Her strands were fabulously familiar, as this year's Super Bowl follicle vibe wasn't too, too different from the defined, caramel-kissed waves she opted for three years ago.
On Sunday night, Bey filled the support slot, cameoing with her pals in Coldplay. Well, at least she was billed as a featured performer, but she absolutely stole the show with her coif (natch) which was flowing and statement-making.
For her headline performance in 2013, her hair was defined, wavy, and brown. This time out, Bey went with long, blonde, center-parted, and super curly natural locks. Her spiral strands actually reminded me of the styles she often shows on Instagram when she posts family photos from vacations. You know — effortlessly glam!
Her golden tendrils were extra long and her hair hue matched the gold chains that were a part of her black leather ensemble. It was certainly a coordinated showing and nothing was left to chance.
Let's look at Bey's wild, larger-than-life locks at her 2016 Super Bowl appearance.
They were long, lush, and 24-karat.
Big hair, don't care!
This was her hair at her Super Bowl performance in 2013. It was just as long and luxurious, but it was definitely more wavy than curly and blonde-highlighted.
It was as though her 2016 look, both coif and ensemble, was a sexalicious update of her 2012 look.
Bey often cycles through dozens of coif styles in a calendar year, thanks to her trusty glam squad and tools like extensions. Bangs? Massive waves? A pixie? Mega long extensions? Those are all hairstyles that Bey has rocked at one time or another. The singer, actor, and girl boss of all girl bosses always keeps us guessing and I was looking forward to seeing what she would rocking when she returned to the stage at the big game.
She didn't disappoint. But then again... does she ever?
