If you're apt to believe tabloid gossip, then you're probably already wondering what baby name Beyoncé and Jay Z are giving their soon-to-be newborn baby. Yep, for the past few months, rumors have been running rampant that Beyoncé is pregnant with baby number two, and that she's actually pretty far along: HollywoodLife claims she's just over four months into her pregnancy. It's believed that all the signs are there: she's reportedly ramped up security efforts in order to keep herself protected, and she's been spotted wearing baggy clothes. So of course, this means she's pregnant, and not just into sporting an oversized jacket from time to time. And naturally, fans are wondering whether Beyoncé will reveal that she's pregnant when she performs at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday. (Bustle has reached out to Beyoncé's rep regarding the reports, but has not yet heard back.)
If she does announce she's pregnant, it wouldn't be the first time she made a major announcement during a performance. The world more or less exploded when she announced she was expecting the future Blue Ivy Carter back at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards during "Love On Top," so she's done this before. Of course, only time will tell if she does indeed make an announcement during the halftime show, but I don't think she's going to.
Sure, she has been out of the public eye for a while now, but she and her husband don't frequently give interviews or post to social media, so it's not like it's unusual that we haven't heard much about her lately. They're simply selective about public appearances. She did recently appear alongside Channing Tatum on Lip Sync Battle , so it's not as if she's in hiding due to her pregnancy, as tabloids have mused. Instead, she and Jay very much seem to value their privacy, despite being global superstars on their own and one of the most famous (and powerful) couples on the planet.
Also, as the guest performer alongside Coldplay in the halftime show, it would be a bit odd for her to attempt to steal the spotlight from them so blatantly. It would be quite an upstage for her to make one of the most-watched moments on TV each year focused on her pregnancy.
That said, it's pretty widely known that Bey and Jay want to expand their brood, so it wouldn't be too much of a shock if she is, in fact, expecting their second child. But I tend to think unless she's got a pretty obvious baby bump during her Super Bowl performance that she might not use such a huge platform to make that announcement. Either way, I have no doubt in my mind that her performance will be epic, baby bump or not!
