Stassi & Lisa Finally Talk On 'Pump Rules'
When Stassi tiptoed into SUR at the end of Monday night’s episode of Vanderpump Rules , I was under the impression she’d scheduled The Big Talk with Lisa ahead of time. And if not that, I would assume the producers had at least warned Lisa that the ex-SURver would be swinging by her former stomping grounds. But the genuinely stunned look on Lisa Vanderpump’s face told me otherwise. When Lisa glanced up from her bookkeeping to see Stassi standing on the other side of the table, she looked like she saw a ghost. But rather than run away in fright, Lisa told the ghost to sit down. She and the ghost had some talking to do.
Stassi launched into an apology right away and admitted that her trash talk was disrespectful. She said she was sorry for publicly disrespecting her former boss, her former coworkers, and her former place of employment.
“You had a boss and you had a good friend, and you f**cked it up,” Lisa replied. “You really did … I really had your back. I wish I hadn’t, to be honest.”
After Lisa called the apology "hollow," Stassi thanked her “for everything with the sex tape.”
Let’s rewind a bit, yeah? Earlier in the episode, Stassi told Kristen that Lisa had paid off the ex-boyfriend who had threatened to leak the Stassi sex tape to the public. Stassi’s ex-boss gave the guy $900 to keep a lid on the illicit recording, and that was the end of that.
Which brings us back to this Lisa/Stassi conversation. After Stassi thanked Lisa for having her back, Lisa didn't reply with a concise "you're welcome." Instead, she said this:
I was the one who met with the sleazy guy, that I told you was sleazy all the way along and that’s why I fired him, but you were in love with him, and I gave him cash to save your a**. And then you’re dismissive of me. The way you treated me...
Stassi apologized again, reached into her purse, grabbed a stack of cash, and attempted to pay Lisa back. Lisa not only rejected the money, but was offended that Stassi would even try to reimburse her. They went back and forth for a few more minutes. Stassi wanted to prove to everyone that she’s a changed woman, but Lisa seemed pretty over it. And that was the end of that.
Would that scene gone any differently if there was a plate of SUR's famous deep fried goat cheese balls sitting in the middle of the table? It just might have. It just might have. I don't know your story, but I've never been one to underestimate the healing power of fried cheese.
