The One Gift To Get Your Galentine This Year
February 14 is fast approaching and while some people (like me!) are super excited about it, others are not so pumped. But whether you think that Valentine’s Day is a BS holiday or a day to celebrate love in all of its forms, there’s another day that I think everyone can get behind: Galentine’s Day on February 13.
For those of you who aren’t avid fans of Amy Poehler’s now off-air show Parks & Recreation, please stop reading and go watch the entire series. JK! That would take a full week and you have important things to do, like pay rent. (But you really should add it to your “must-watch” lsit.) Instead, I’ll give you a little recap. Poehler’s character Leslie Knope loves her friends and creates a holiday called “Galentine’s Day” in order to show them just how great she thinks they are. While Valentine’s Day is traditionally about romantic love and celebrated on February 14, Galentine’s Day is celebrated on February 13 and is all about celebrating your gal pals.
While Knope celebrates the day with breakfast foods (once you’ve watched the show, you’ll understand why), you can obviously celebrate Galentine's Day in whatever way your friends will appreciate the most. However, there is one gift you should absolutely make sure to get your number one galentine (and, if you’re feeling generous, all of your best gals) this year: a Vesper vibrator from Crave. Oh, and the best part? They’re doing a two for one deal right now.
Crave is one of my favorite sex toy companies, mainly because they care a lot about design. Co-founder Ti Chang was a more traditional industrial designer before she turned her focus to designing products specifically for women. The result is a sharp turn away from traditional sex toy designs, which tend toward childish colors and shapes like animals. Chang’s designs, on the other hand, focus on combining beauty and functionality and the Vesper exemplifies that dual nature perhaps more than any other. In fact, it’s so lovely that this classic (and powerful) bullet vibe doubles as a pendant.
Yup, you read that right. The Vesper can be worn as a high fashion pendant, similar to those pen pendants that Joan wore on Mad Men but with a much sexier function. (Actually, I like to imagine that a modern Joan would totally rock a Vesper.) You can choose whether to go with all stainless steel or take it up a notch and get it with a rose gold tip or plated with 24 karat gold. Regardless of the metal choice, all of the Vespers come on a matching 26-inch chain, are USB rechargeable, and you can even customize yours with an engraving.
“We think Valentines is also galentines — an opportunity to show some love to your nearest and dearest,” Chang tells Bustle. “After all, flowers die and chocolates get eaten, but a vibe will keep on giving. There’s also no limit, so your whole squad can rock this sleek, empowering statement piece.”
In order to take advantage of the two for one Vesper deal, head over to the Crave website, choose your Vesper, and enter VESPERBOGO at checkout. The only limits to this deal are that your free Vesper will be the same color as your purchased one and it can’t have any engravings on it. Oh, also, Chang wanted me to mention that the free Vesper won’t show up in your shopping cart — you’ll just see a $1 discount and when your package arrives, it will contain two vibes instead of one. So what are you waiting for? Get your Galentine’s Day shopping on — the deal ends really soon!
