Kerry Debuts New Short Hairstyle
Even though she's currently off-duty as Scandal's Olivia Pope, Kerry Washington debuted a new layered bob hairstyle last Saturday and — like Olivia would say — "handled" the new style like a boss. The actress was at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend, promoting her upcoming HBO film Confirmation. Stylist to the stars Larry Sims was responsible for Washington's newly chopped 'do.
“Last nights gig w my #Scandalocious Stunner @kerrywashington #Sundance #Simstyled #Chopped," he posted on Instagram. Sims, who works with celebrities such as Lupita Nyong'o and Tracee Ellis Ross, has previously styled Washington, including giving her a diva-like mane at the 2015 GLAAD Awards. Her new chin-length hairstyle helped pull together Washington's edgy red carpet look, which consisted of a black leather top by Ji Oh, white Tibi skirt, and knee-high Stuart Weitzman boots.
Rocking such a fierce cut is not only a favorite among several celebrities who love the layered bob, but works really well with Washington's facial features. The actress is also not one to shy away from a variety of hairstyles on and off the red carpet, whether it's glamorous, shoulder-length waves, blunt bangs, or a chic, polished updo. But even for such a style chameleon, Washington manages to make this 'do look fresh and effortless.
Throughout her career, Kerry Washington has always dazzled and delighted us with her hairstyles. Here are some of her best looks in recent months:
Side Pony
Washington added a dash of sophistication to her floral outfit with this hairstyle.
Faux Bob
The actress slayed with this short, textured 'do at the Emmy Awards last year.
Wavy Cut With Bangs
She looked flawless as always with this mid-length style.
Voluminous Waves
Hairstylist Larry Sims rinsed Washington's hair with cold water, which made it shine at last year's GLAAD Awards.
Smooth & Straight
This style really shows off Washington's flawless face.
