Being on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette has to be a jarring experience. You’re sucked into this world of roses and drama and helicopter trips, and then the show ends and you’re supposed to go back to your real life. Many Bachelor and Bachelorette stars try to extend their 15 minutes of fame (how many former contestants have you seen with their own teeth-whitening ads?) rather than go back to their original jobs. But, what about this season's contestants like Lauren B. (aka Lauren Bushnell), who is a fan favorite on Ben Higgins’ season? What has Lauren B. been doing since The Bachelor finished filming?
Lauren B. (we have to use a last initial because there were three Laurens and a Laura on this season of The Bachelor ) is popular for good reason — she’s beautiful, she’s sweet, she’s fun, and she really seems down for anything. On her first one-on-one date with Ben, Lauren hopped in a bi-plane with the Bachelor. Was she terrified? Sure, she was (even though her day job is being a flight attendant), but Lauren did it anyway.
I’m sure that her life since The Bachelor wrapped has not included that many bi-planes that soar and flip through the sky, so let’s take a look at what she has been up to. Honestly, her activities sound like those of any other 25-year-old gal.
Marathoning TV
You know how I know I love Lauren? Because she loves the same shows that I love, like HGTV’s Fixer Upper. It seems very few people are immune to the charms of Joanna and Chip Gaines and the flawless homes that they remodel down in Waco, Texas. I’m pretty sure I was watching Fixer Upper on the same day that Lauren was in her tweet, so we were basically tuning in together like real best friends.
Chowing Down
Lauren went to town on a salad on The Bachelor, so we know the girl can eat. Her Instagram and Twitter also show this off, with snaps of burgers, fries, lobsters, and this particularly delicious bowl of pho. I can’t love anyone who doesn’t love noodles, so I’m glad that Lauren is on my side on this one.
Hanging Out With Her Family
On her one-on-one date with Ben, Lauren talked a lot about how close she is with her family and how she models all of her relationships off that of her parents. According to Lauren’s social media, she and her family spend a lot of time together. She goes to basketball games with her brother, Las Vegas and music festivals with her sister, and more.
Traveling
What better way to celebrate being on The Bachelor (or hide from paparazzi) than escaping to Mexico for a girls weekend? Lauren recently spent some time in Cabo San Lucas, sunning herself and riding horses on the beach. I’m covered in a foot of snow here, so I am especially jealous of her right now.
Though we don’t yet know Lauren’s fate on The Bachelor, it’s nice to see how much fun she’s having off the show. Seems like she’s handling the reality television come-down just fine.
