Where's Kate From 'Lizzie McGuire' Now?

In the pantheon of Disney Channel Original Series villains, Kate Sanders from Lizzie McGuire is up there with Coach Tugnut from Even Stevens and Rico from Hannah Montana. In other words, she rules. Played to outfit remembering perfection by Ashlie Brillault, Lizzie’s friend-turned-enemy-turned-friend is one of the best adversaries the Disney Channel ever gave us.

So where is the actress who portrayed Kate on Lizzie McGuire now? Well, after the scripted tween sitcom drew to a close in 2004, Brillault more or less hung up her actor hat for good, and then went on to pursue becoming a lawyer. According to MTV News, Brillault got a degree in Political Science from CSU Long Beach, received her J.D. from the University of Denver, and has been working in the law field ever since. Oh, and! According to MoviePilot.com, she also donates her time to different organizations, including the ACLU. Oh, AND! She’s married and gave birth to a daughter last February.

“At the moment I’m focusing on being a mom to this amazing little human being and in the next few months I plan on looking for a job as a lawyer in the civil rights or criminal defense field,” Brillault told MTV News in 2015. “My ultimate goal is to work on issues related to criminal justice reform.”
