7 Quick Ways To Fake A Morning Shower
Hit the snooze button a few too many times? Don't worry about it. We've all been there. Even though you may not have time to get yourself squeaky clean, there are plenty of ways to fake your morning shower without actually getting wet. As someone who loves sleep more than anything, I can honestly say that I've put each of these hacks to the test. While this isn't my standard routine every morning, it is amazing for those last minute primp sessions. Seriously, these helpful hacks are perfect for when you need to look pull-together, but don't necessarily have the time to do so.
Faking a shower isn't as easy as you may think. While a shower is a one-step process, faking it is not. When you skip out on your shower, you are missing out on cleaning many parts of your body (obviously). So, when rearranging your routine, you have to keep each of these parts in mind. For instance, your hair and skin are dramatically improved when you shower. If you miss out, then you need to make up for this in some way (unless you naturally wake up gorgeous). Wondering how you can fake your way to a polished look? Here are seven hacks that can help you look like you've showered even if you haven't.
1. Dry Shampoo

Greasy roots are a huge indicator that you didn't have time to shower. Fake your way to looking polished by spritzing your roots with a dry shampoo. The spray soaks up any lingering oils or product, and leaves your with matte, clean-looking roots. It's basically a shower in a bottle.
2. Adjust Your Natural Scent
According to Shape, when you sleep your body can still produce oils and sweat. If you don't shower in the morning, these lingering odors can still be on your body. Adjust your natural scent by making sure to swipe on deodorant, and sprite yourself with perfume to cover up any unwanted smells. Take this process a step further by using a damp cloth on the areas where smells tend to gather (aka your pits).

3. Wipe Away Any Oils
Neutrogena Deep Clean Face Wipes, $8.74, Amazon
As mentioned above, your body still can produce oils while you sleep. Wipe away any lingering dirt, makeup, or anything else by using a cleaning facial wipe before you apply makeup or head out the door. This keeps your face looking squeaky clean while removing any buildup.
4. Stay Minty Fresh
While no one ever admits it, we've all been guilty of forgetting to brush our teeth. As gross as it may sound, it definitely happens to the best of us. In order to prevent awkward encounters, mask any unfriendly smells by reaching for gum, mints, or breathe enhancing spray. It's an easy way to pretend that you have stellar hygiene habits (even if you're having an off day).

5. Brighten Your Eyes
Tired, dull looking eyes are a dead giveaway that you didn't have the time to freshen up. Fake your way to a full night's sleep by brightening your eyes. My favorite way to do this is to brighten my inner corners with a shimmering eyeshadow, and loading on the mascara. This way my eyes look wide awake even if I'm not.

6. Get Glowing
Perk up your skin by adding a bit of highlighter to the tops of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose. It's a simple way to give your skin a fresh-faced appearance with very little effort.

7. Change Up Your Hairstyle
While you may have masked your greasy roots, your hair still could be looking a mess. Pretend that you cared about your hair this morning by throwing it into a cute braid or updo. No one will ever know that you missed out on your shower.
