Kylie Jenner Answers An Important Lip Kit Question

by Amy Sciarretto

I don't know how beauty products can be anything but cruelty-free in 2016. We've made so many advancements in science and technology that animal testing should be ridiculously and totally archaic. Sadly, it isn't. A fan tweeted at Kylie Jenner, asking if her Kylie Lip Kits are cruelty-free, which is a valid question. We know the Lip Kits are hard to get, with the initial launch and single restock of the three suede-like and matte liquid lipsticks sold out in nanoseconds. We know that there will be a restock and that the Valentine's Day collection is coming and will feature the rich pink Posie K shade along with an update to the formula. But up until now we didn't have a lot of info on whether the Kylie Lip Kits are tested on animals.

Jenner's generously offered a solid answer to her inquisitive Twitter follower, responding to confirm that the Kylie Lip Kits are indeed cruelty-free! I was relieved to get that confirmation, since animal testing is barbaric in my opinion, but I had a bit of a chuckle at that the person who asked doesn't seem to realize how extremely hard it will be to actually make the ethical purchase she was asking about! After all, Kylie Lip Kits have notoriously sold out very quickly both times they were in stock. It's hard to believe the next round will be any different.

Still, big ups to this fan for asking such an important question and getting a direct (and rather instant response) from Jenner herself.

The official Kylie Lip Kit page also states that the products aren't tested on animals, in case you needed further confirmation, proof, or wanted another backup source.

The reason I am not shocked that the Lip Kits are cruelty-free is because Jenner often posts pictures of her dogs on her Instagram feed and she seems to like animals. She doesn't seem like the type of person who could back a product that harmed living, breathing creatures.

Yes, I know. Jenner often wears leather and fur. But that's somewhat of a different argument and is not what we are talking about here. We're specifically discussing the Lip Kits and if they are cruelty-free, which they are!
