11 Great Drunk Tweets From Celebs
Anyone with a social media account knows that between the hours of 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. on a night out, the phones must go away and be hidden in a safe space, because otherwise, it's all about those drunk tweets (and texts, and calls, and Instagram posts...). Celebs are no exception, with many of them having openly admitted to drunk tweeting from time to time. Even Adele has admitted to being guilty of posting some gems while less than sober. And now, Sam Smith is the latest celeb to admit to drunk tweeting, as he tweeted on Saturday night that he was posting while intoxicated.
These stars' decisions are more than understandable; despite the inevitable truth that your social media should go into hiding after tequila shot number three, who isn't guilty of a little "Guyz I'm so happpy!!!! <3<3<3 *dancing lady emoji* *dancing lady emoji* *poop emoji*" every now and again? The celebs below certainly know what it's like, and these 11 occasions of drunk tweeting by stars might make you feel better about your own intoxicated posting.
1. Sam Smith
The man has no shame.
2. Sam Smith... Again
But at least it's out of love?
3. Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton, it's illegal to call 911 if you don't have a real emergency! You are not above the law, Sir. Even if you are intoxicated.
4. Anna Kendrick
In 2014, Kendrick told E! News, "I drunk draft and double check them in the morning," adding that "Although I have done a handful of drunk tweets and so far people have not been able to tell the difference ,although I'm not quite sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing that my sober tweets could be drunk tweets."
She's so adorable and honest about it I don't really care. Live your life, girl!
5. Anna Kendrick Watching The Emmys
While Kendrick doesn't admit to being drunk on said wine drank while watching the Emmys, she does admit to it making her and her friends open up, and that is something I can most certainly get behind.
6. Anna Kendrick Being Post-Drunk
The stars: they're just like us. Though if I were Kendrick, I would pay someone to remind me to drink water to prevent hangovers.
7. Bruno Mars
Good for you, Bruno. That's the spirit.
8. Adele
Unfortunately, you can't see Adele's prime material in which she admitted to being drunk, because they have all been deleted. But she has said that she's drunkenly tweeted, saying during her BBC special in November that as a result, she now has to have her tweets approved before they go up on the site.
9. Bow Wow
On New Year's Eve in 2010, Bow Wow posted a series of tweets about driving in his Lamborghini in which he heavily implied that he was intoxicated (one prime example: "Face numb im whippin the lambo. Tispy as f**k"). While the series was soon deleted from his account, he kept an apology Tweet up to show his remorse. According to The New York Daily News, it said, "Apologize for that tweet. it was stupid and immature. not a way i want to kick my #2010 year off. i got too much good stuff lined up. my bad."
Sorry, everyone: I would not recommend drunk tweeting, no matter how beautiful and fabulous you feel in the moment. That feeling will most definitely go away tomorrow. Trust me.
