Back in October, former basketball star Lamar Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. The health scare left Odom hospitalized, and he's still on the road to recovery today. According to TMZ, blood test results from October showed that the athlete had cocaine in his system. Ever since, fans have wondered: Will Odom face drug charges? After months of uncertainty, the answer is no. A spokesperson for the Nye County District Attorney told E! News,
[Although] evidence showed Mr. Odom had metabolized cocaine in his system while he was present in Nye County in October of 2015, he was not found in the possession of cocaine and it is unlikely it could established beyond a reasonable doubt he actually ingested, or was impaired by, the drug during the time he was within the jurisdiction of Nye County.
That's a long-winded way of saying that there isn't sufficient evidence to criminally charge Odom for drug possession or use. Now that that's settled, it's certainly one less thing for the 36-year-old to worry about as he works on recovering. According to various reports, he has made strides in getting better, including beginning to walk on his own and raise his arm above his head. Plus, last week Odom reportedly left the hospital and moved to a private rehab facility, which is another major step forward.
As he focuses on an expectedly long recovery, his ex Khloé Kardashian continues being a solid source of support along the way. In November, the reality star told Ellen DeGeneres that Odom does not know how he wound up in the hospital, and she believes that's for the best. Kardashian said,
We tell him he had a brain injury, but I can’t tell him about how that brain injury was caused because it will set him back... He's never asked why he's here.
Going forward, hopefully there continues to only be good news about Odom's recovery and his condition improves everyday.
