14 Celebrities With The Most '90s Hair
The '90s were a period where brown lipstick, baby doll dresses, and some seriously questionable hairstyles reigned supreme. Fashion from the '90s has been making its way back into our closets for awhile — think Dr. Marten's, mom jeans, and tattoo chokers. Like the fashion from the time, some '90s celebrity hairstyles are making a big comeback if only for the nostalgia factor. I'm not afraid to admit that I still rock a scrunchie to this day (including while writing this post).
While some hairstyles are coming back, others should seriously just stay in the past. Butterfly clips, anyone? All terrible hair accessories aside, one of the best ways to reminisce about the past is by taking a walk down celebrity memory lane and looking at old red carpet photos. Whether these celebs are proud of or embarrassed by their '90s hair moments, I'm just happy we can still see them now. Thank you Internet!
Hairstyles from the '90s have a very distinct look that allows you to place them immediately when you see them. From the over-use of the hair crimper to slightly unruly curls, these styles are the epitome of the '90s. So, grab your scrunchy and study up on these '90s celebrity hairstyles, because who knows which ones will be popular again in 2016.
1. Keri Russell
This curly topknot screams the 1999.
2. Sarah Jessica Parker
For Sarah Jessica Parker, the '90s meant full, voluminous curls.
3. Jennifer Aniston
This haircut was deemed "the Rachel" after Aniston's character on Friends because it was so popular at the time.
4. Nicole Kidman
Apparently super tight curls were the look du jour in 1992.
5. Christina Aguilera
I distinctly remember crimpers being the sought-after hair tool in the late '90s.
6. Gwen Stefani
Stefani rocked black streaks in her platinum blonde hair. Not too sure we'll see her in this again soon.
7. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
Here's to hoping the flipped-out bob will stay in 1999.
8. Britney Spears
High and low pigtails were very much part of the '90s style.
9. Sarah Michelle Gellar
Most people rocked a thin, wispy bang at some point during the '90s.
10. Danielle Fishel
Butterfly clips were literally everywhere at the time. Extra points if they were worn super tight and spiked up in the back.
11. Alicia Silverstone
Messy buns were not enough during the '90s — the best up do's featured twisting strands and spiky ends.
12. Drew Barrymore
A short, curly haired 'do is especially '90s when pinned back by a daisy hair clip.
13. Gwenyth Paltrow
Paltrow rocks two lone dangling hair pieces paired with a slicked-back up do.
14. Janet Jackson
I am a believer in the hair scrunchie and think she looks amazing.
