Sure, Bachelor Ben Higgins is the man of the moment, but I’m curious about the winners of the season where Ben came from — when are Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth getting married? The two fell madly in love on her season of The Bachelorette, and honestly, we haven’t heard much of a peep from them since! (Unless you follow them on Snapchat where they never stop peeping.) Luckily for fans like me, Kaitlyn and Shawn stopped by Bachelor Live to talk to Chris Harrison, Diablo Cody, Lauren Lapkus, and Ben himself about their lives after The Bachelorette.
Obviously, these two are still engaged, but they pretty much sidestepped any official answer of their wedding date. Kaitlyn made a joke about it being April 1 (Get it? Because it’s April Fool’s Day), but in all seriousness, Kaitlyn said that because the whole Bachelorette process is so rushed, she and Shawn are taking their time with a wedding date. Kaitlyn and Shawn still seem totally in love — they’re just taking things slow, you know? It’s not something that people usually do in Bachelor Nation, but when has Kaitlyn ever done anything along with what The Bachelor wanted her to do? Kaitlyn and Shawn also made plenty of jokes about all of the tabloid rumors that constantly surround them.
Even though they’re so not giving the people what they want (aka a wedding date, folks), I’m glad that Kaitlyn and Shawn are still very happy with each other. So many of the couples on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette break up, so it’s nice to see a couple that’s still going strong. Kaitlyn and Shawn seem pretty private (minus that whole Snapchat snafu), so I’m fairly certain that we will not be seeing a big Bachelor wedding from these two. Oh well. There’s always Sean and Catherine Lowe and their baby for the next TV special!
